Roasted Turkey
Ingredients
16-20 pound whole turkey |
Salt and Pepper |
1/2 stick margarine |
Preparation
- Heat oven to 325 degrees
- Rinse turkey and pat dry with paper towel
- Sprinkle cavity lightly with salt and pepper
- Secure legs with string or wire
- Place turkey in large roasting pan
- Microwave margarine until melted (30-45 seconds)
- Brush turkey with melted margarine
- Sprinkle outside of turkey with salt and pepper
- Cover with foil
- Estimate cooking time 20-30 minutes per pound
- During last 30 minutes, remove foil
- Let stand, tented with foil, for 15-20 minutes before carving
- Sprinkle outside of turkey with salt and pepper
- Reserve drippings for gravy
