Glazed Ham

Conventional Roasting

1 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup dry mustard
1/4 cup apple or orange juice
8 to 10 lb. fully cooked boneless ham
whole cloves

Preparation

  1. In a small mixing bowl, combine all ingredients, except ham and cloves. Mix well. Set aside. Score and spice ham (below).
  2. Heat conventional oven to 325 degrees. Estimate cooking time at 10 to 15 minutes per pound. Place ham scored side up on rack in large roasting pan.
  3. Brush with glaze during last 30 minutes of roasting time. Roast for remaining time, basting with drippings once.
  4. Decorate ham with quartered orange slices, if desired. Secure orange pieces with cloves in diagonal lines. Baste ham with drippings and return to oven for 10 minutes.
  5. Scoring & Spicing Ham Score top of ham in 1 inch diamond pattern, cutting 1/4 inch deep. Insert 1 clove in center of each diamond.
